Alcohol, tobacco & Other Drug Program (ATOD)
ATOD is a confidential program based on the harm reduction model, assisting people to regain control over their substance use & supporting those affected by substance use.

Who can access the program?
The ATOD Program can be accessed by anyone that considers their substance use to be an issue or by those affected by someone else’s substance use.

Drug & Alcohol Counselling
Counselling is available on general substance use issues.  The ATOD Program also has a number of specialised programs. 

Koori Alcohol & Drug Diversion Worker (KADDW)
Indigenous specific substance use counselling for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander clients. The emphasis is based on culturally appropriate support particularly for clients in the Koori Court system.

Rural Outreach Diversion Worker (RODW)
A youth focused outreach service for ATOD clients between the ages of 10-25 years and/or clients who may find difficulty in accessing our Shepparton based service.   

Forensic D&A Counselling
For clients who have been through the criminal justice system e.g. courts, prisons etc.

GV Passport Program
This is a two hour education session targeted specifically at Year 9 students of local secondary colleges about the harm associated with substance use.  GVCHS delivers this program in partnership with local secondary schools and licensed venues.

Cautious with Cannabis
This is a brief education session for anyone wanting to know the effects of cannabis. This program is offered on a needs basis.

Where is the Service provided?
The program operates out of our agency premises at 399 Wyndham Street, Shepparton. Appointments are also available in the Moira and Strathbogie Shires.

How do I make an appointment?
Call in or telephone Goulburn Valley Community Health Service on 5823 3200 during business hours. Prior to your first appointment, the Intake Worker will contact you to assess your situation and organise an appointment with the appropriate program.
